    The General Maintenance position at Marjorie P. Lee Retirement Community is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the facility, equipment and grounds in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, and as directed by the Residential Services Director, and for assuring that a successful maintenance program is upheld at all times.

Lee is in the heart of a well-established neighborhood in Hyde Park.


    • Performs routine maintenance and repairs of the facility and equipment, observing all safety standards and policies.
    • Performs limited troubleshooting within scope of abilities.
    • Assists with preventive maintenance duties including but not limited to filter changes, lubrication of motors, etc.
    • Assists skilled personnel in skilled trades such as electrical, plumbing, etc.
    • Participates fully in ERS’s Emergency and Disaster Plan, including assisting in the evacuation of residents during emergencies.
    • Observes all safety policies, and reports all incidents or accidents to manager or supervisor.
    • Cultivates effective and respectful relationships with residents, families and staff.
    • As an ERS team member, upholds the philosophy of Person Centered Care while performing duties; whenever possible acts to restore and/or provide Purpose, Choice and Freedom to our residents.



    •Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

    •Must have 2 years in related field

    •Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language

    •Must be able to push, pull or lift 50 pounds regularly and over 100 pounds occasionally

    •Must have the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of
    equipment, etc.

    •Must have a valid state drivers license

    •Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel as well as be willing to handle residents based at whatever behavior or acuity level they are currently functioning
