    Our Meals on Wheels program is seeking an Office Assistant. The position requires flexibility to work between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.   The primary purpose of this position is to demonstrate a strong bias towards service, quality and customer satisfaction as well as assist the Meals on Wheels Director with daily operations for the Meals on Wheels Program including, but not limited to, data entry, answering of phones, routing, volunteer recruitment and coordination, finger printing, filing and coordination of referrals to internal resources. 

     

    Since 1989, Deupree Meals on Wheels (MOW), located in Hyde Park, has provided older adults in the eastern portion of Cincinnati with warm, nutritious meals delivered right into their homes.  The program strives to supplement family support by providing older adults with a healthy meal and social contact.  The program is administered in partnership with the Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain a file on all volunteers and activities. Recruit, manage all volunteers, assigning routes and answer all questions.
    • Finger printing and background checks for all volunteers.
    • Provide courteous and accurate assistance to all callers verbally or providing written responses via email or mail.
    • Resolved customer inquiries while providing superior customer service, including, data processing and providing status updates.
    • Compiles data on the number of calls, follow-up calls, source of referrals and tabulates required reports for review by supervisor.
    • Files documents into client files.
    • Process incoming & outgoing mail requests. 
    • Checks Council on Aging website for referrals, new clients and messages.
    • Established, maintained, and updated database, records, and other client documents.
    • Support team on backup activities and other duties.

    Qualifications

    • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma
    • Must have 2 years’ work experience, preferably in the health care or in the insurance field
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, outlook and Excel
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to prioritize work load and maintain an organized work space
    • Must possess customer service, problem solving, attention to details, and decision making skills
    • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a cohesive team
