For more than 135 years, the Episcopal Church Home has served the Louisville community and its seniors by providing the highest level of care. Over the years ECH has earned a reputation in senior living for the highest quality care and service delivered by caring and compassionate professionals. ECH is a multi-level senior living community located on Westport Road in Louisville and includes the Dudley Square Patio Homes, personal care and skilled nursing rooms, and the Memory Care Center of Excellence. ECH also provides short-term rehabilitation therapy, as well as family and community support groups and services.
The primary purpose of this position is to direct and coordinate nursing services and related activities throughout the Home during a specified tour of duty. The RN Care Team Manager is responsible for maintaining quality nursing care, medical records, quality monitoring, staff supervision and training, client relationship development and resident case management.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for older adult care and must demonstrate leadership capabilities while offering our residents the utmost quality of care and quality of life.
•Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved RN diploma program and possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in the State of Kentucky
•Prefer as a minimum, 5 years of experience as a supervisor in a skilled nursing care facility; prefer experience as a clinical manager in a hospital
•Certification in geriatric nursing is preferred; specialized training or experience in geriatric nursing with emphasis in dementia care
•Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
•Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
•Must possess the ability to handle crisis situations in a calm manner, a demonstrated ability to display leadership during a crisis
•Knowledge and experience with person centered care principles a plus
•Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
•Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care
•Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and be willing to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
•Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents
•Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace
•Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day
•Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
•Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies
•Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the facility
•May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
