    Marjorie P. Lee Retirement Community, voted as one of the top retirement communities on the east side, is currently seeking a Life Enrichment Specialist. The purpose of the role is to plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct recreational programs within the guidelines established for Episcopal Retirement Services and to assure that the six dimensions of wellness (spiritual, social, intellectual, emotional, physical and vocational) are met or maintained on an individual resident basis.

     

    Residents at the Marjorie P. Lee community live with dignity and purpose while receiving the very best care. Located just a few blocks from Hyde Park Square in one of Cincinnati’s most desirable suburban locations, Marjorie P. Lee is in the heart of a well-established neighborhood in Hyde Park.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Transports, coordinates transportation, and assists residents to participate in life- enriching opportunities of their choice.
    • Conducts group activities in order to engage residents in meaningful activities which help to enhance their feelings of self-esteem.
    • Records all resident-related information and completes other paperwork and charting in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with State of Ohio guidelines.
    • As an ERS team member, upholds the philosophy of Person Centered Care while performing duties; whenever possible acts to restore and/or provide Purpose, Choice and Freedom to our residents.

    Qualifications

    • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma/GED
    • Experience working in an activities/life enrichment role preferred
    • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language
    • Must possess sight/hearing senses, or the use of prosthetics that will enable these sense to function adequately so that the requirements of the position can be fully met
    • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
    • Must be patient, organized, flexible, able to work independently and enjoy working with older adults
    • Must have the ability to work and interact with resident care professionals as part of an interdisciplinary team
    • Must have some understanding of the social, psychological, and recreational needs of older adults
    • Must possess leadership ability and be willing to work effectively and harmoniously with other personnel
    • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facility
    • May be required to lift equipment, supplies, and occasionally move furniture.
    • Must be able to bend, stoop, lift and push/pull 50 lbs on a regular basis or up to 100 lbs occasionally.
