    ERS is seeking a compassionate individual to fill the position of Driver (CDL) to provide transportation to seniors in our Affordable Living communities. The Driver will start each work day at 8:30 a.m. at St. Paul Village retirement community in Madisonville.  On a weekly basis, the Driver will transport residents to and from a variety of Cincinnati area senior living communities including Central Parkway Place in Over-the-Rhine, The Elberon in Price Hill, St. Pius Place in South Cumminsville, Walnut Court in Walnut Hills,  Knowlton Place in Northside and Marlowe Court in College Hill.  On a monthly basis, the Driver will transport residents at our communities in Springdale, Blanchester, Wilmington, and Amelia.  Enjoy a position with great variety while serving the transportation needs of elders!  Our Drivers enjoy the one-on-one interaction and conversations with residents.  This is a great opportunity to work weekdays with no nights or weekends! 


    The primary purpose of the Driver (CDL) position is to provide driving services (via car or shuttle bus) for the needs of residents as approved by the Community Manager in accordance with ERS policies and procedures and applicable state motor vehicle laws.     • Drives ERS shuttle buses and other vehicles on trips including, but not limited to shopping and life enrichment trips for residents
    • Drives ERS vehicles to make deliveries of donations, newsletters and other errands and delivers to resident apartments or as assigned
    • Drives ERS vehicles, utilizing safe driving practices including the observance of all State, Federal, and Local laws
    • Assists residents getting in and out of vehicles, maintaining safety procedures and ensuring resident clearance of closing doors. Offers assistance with packages
    • Assists Activities Director with major parties, events, activities and fundraisers after driving residents to destination. This includes but is not limited to assisting residents to their tables, serving food, clearing tables, taking out trash or participating in all aspects of the events while waiting for the residents to return to the Community
    • Maintains the appearance of ERS vehicles by exterior and interior cleaning
    • Maintains ERS vehicles in excellent working condition by arranging for and informing Maintenance/Security Manager when preventative maintenance is due and when mechanical problems arise with any part of the bus, including the mechanical lift
    • Reports incidents/accidents to the police and the supervisor as soon as possible. Completes and submits to supervisor an ERS incident report form within 1 day of any incident or accident occurring
    • Is reachable by cell phone or text message when on outings, answering or responding only when it is safe to do so


    • Should possess a high school diploma or its equivalent
    • Must possess a valid State of Ohio Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class C
    • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language
    • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
    • Must possess adequate sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met
    • Must be able to lift, move, or push an equivalence of fifty (50) pounds on a regular basis
    • Must possess adequate physical capabilities, or use prosthetics in order to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met
