    Episcopal Retirement Services is seeking applicants for the role on the Human Resources team.  If you enjoy teaching programs and training delivery, and a part-time schedule would be ideal, we would like to learn more about you!

    The Trainer, Human Resources is a great opportunity for a candidate with an education or training delivery background, and who is looking for a part-time position, in the Hyde Park / Fairfax area.  The position is 16 hours each week, (which includes Wednesdays, plus an additional day or two half days).


    The primary purpose of this position is to teach and lead engaging, experiential and inspirational learning opportunities for team members working in senior services; to coordinate meaningful learning programs; and to ensure team members are equipped to deliver superior service. The Trainer will teach New Employee Orientation and provide a warm welcome to new ERS team members with an emphasis on culture. In addition, the role will coordinate and facilitate annual education programs through a partnership with organizational subject matter experts. The Trainer will strive to develop workforce effectiveness to enable ERS to achieve its strategic goals.

    • Fosters and maintains meaningful relationships with internal customers; is credible and trustworthy to address training needs to support departmental leaders and team members; provides consistent and proactive superior customer service
    • Designs, coordinates and facilitates required in-service educational programs for all staff, such as New Hire Orientation and Annual Education programs
    • Ensures that the HRIS system is maintained with accurate training records, assists with transfer of training records from the Learning Management System to the HRIS system
    • Serves as the central point of training program coordination for the OD and HR team; assist with program logistics
    • Promotes use of the Learning Management System; leverages the use of technology in learning
    • Supports the ERS tuition assistance program; provides assistance to staff seeking information and participating in the program
    • Coordinates training programs including brown bag lunches and topics of interest to staff. Utilizes outside resources such as consultants, vendors and community seminars to supplement in-house educational programs



    • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Education or related field required

    • Three to five years of experience in teaching, training delivery, group facilitation, organizational learning & development, program development and implementation of new educational programs required

    • The ability to demonstrate effective training program delivery; excellent teaching skills

    • The ability to demonstrate application of adult learning principles in program development
