ECH Retirement Community sits on a 22 acre campus on Westport Road in Louisville and includes the Dudley Square Patio Homes, personal care and skilled nursing rooms, and the Memory Care Center of Excellence, and St. Luke's Chapel. ECH also provides short-term rehabilitation therapy, as well as family and community support groups and services. 


The primary purpose of the Maintenance Supervisor is to manage and oversee the maintenance staff to insure that The Episcopal Church Home meets all requirements as determined by the Life Safety Code and the requirements of K.A.R.s relative to the organization’s licensing. The position is hands on. The breadth of responsibility includes in entire campus with the exception of the Dudley Square Townhomes.


  • Interview and hire maintenance/security staff, staff documentation and performance appraisals, and staff terminations.
  • Perform general plumbing, electrical, light carpentry, painting, heating, and cooling tasks.
  • Oversee contractor activity as necessary for positive outcomes.
  • Manage preventative/predictive maintenance systems.

  • Manage the departmental budget as assigned. This may include invoice reconciliation, payroll, and expense forecasts.

  • Manage materials inventory management and accounting.

  • Possess a valid non-restricted driver’s license.

  • Must be available on-call 24/7 for emergency response.

  • Have the ability to interpret design drawings.

  • Supports ECH mission and vision.

  • Represent ECH in a positive and professional manner, adhering to all policies and procedures.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all data, including resident, employee, and operations data.

  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.

  • Exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills with both residents and staff.

  • Exhibit strong customer service orientation.


  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Five (5) years of building trades experience required. 

  • Five (5) years of experience in a supervisory role required;Ten (10) years of facility/supervisory management experience preferred.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

  • BOMI/IREM certification preferred.

  • EPA Universal Certification preferred.
