ECH Retirement Community sits on a 22 acre campus on Westport Road in Louisville and includes the Dudley Square Patio Homes, personal care and skilled nursing rooms, and the Memory Care Center of Excellence, and St. Luke's Chapel. ECH also provides short-term rehabilitation therapy, as well as family and community support groups and services. 

 

The primary purpose of the Business Office and Admissions Coordinator is to assist the Admissions Manager with the admission of new residents, to assist residents with the Medicaid approval process, and to act as the liaison with the ERS billing office through prompt processing of deposits, billing, and insurance company requests.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents and responsible parties with the Medicaid approval process, including ensuring prompt follow up via telephone and in person with Medicaid personnel regarding Medicaid applications.
  • Is responsible for managing Medicaid accounts receivable; updates Executive Director weekly regarding Medicaid caseload and status of Medicaid applications.
  • Process daily deposits.
  • Work as a liaison between ECH and the ERS billing office to ensure that mail and ancillary charges are forwarded in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that the proper department manager / director codes and approves invoices before sending them to Accounts Payable for processing.
  • Send request for information from insurance companies to the ERS billing office immediately for timely processing.
  • Complete timely insurance verifications for potential resident admissions.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including the filing of MAP 740.
  • Assist with getting resident rooms ready for move in; replace/ replenish amenities as needed; verify that residents’ room has been prepared in time for move in; and welcome new residents into the rehabilitation facility.
  • Assist with completing rehabilitation admissions paperwork and verify admissions paperwork is filled out correctly and in its entirety. Ensure code statuses have been copied.
  • Create and compile admissions packets for residents and answer questions a resident may have within the scope of responsibility or direct resident to appropriate person.
  • Provide tours of the facilities for potential residents.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of administrative experience required.
  • Three (3) of experience in long-term care billing and collection required; five (5) years preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare, accounting and/or marketing environment preferred.
  • Ability to type and use general office equipment is required.
  • Basic computer skills as well as Microsoft Office required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of this facility.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public.
  • Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.
  • Must be able to maintain good personnel relationships and employee morale.
  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents, staff, and visitors based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.
  • Has the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to maintain regular, predictable, and dependable, attendance.
  • Must have a flexible schedule.
