The Episcopal Church Home of Louisville, Kentucky is seeking candidates for the Receptionist role. The Receptionist is responsible for providing a warm welcome to residents and guests of the Episcopal Church Home community by telephone and in person in addition to clerical duties. If you have a passion for serving in an organization that provides care to older adults, we would like to learn more about you!

 

This back up Receptionist position offers a base rate of $11.35 per hour with an additional shift differential from the hours of 6p - 8p and is a great opportunity for a college student or retiree! It is an excellent way to gain experience in healthcare and elder services.

ECH is a multi-level senior living community located on Westport Road in Louisville.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, welcome and positivity.
  • Assists residents, family members and visitors as needed.
  • Answers multi-line telephone; determines nature of call and directs caller to appropriate individual or department.
  • Receives inquiries from staff, residents and guests and releases information in accordance with established policies.
  • Monitors Security System (fire alarm, Code Alert, etc.).
  • Maintains confidentiality of all data, including resident, employee, and operations information.
  • Maintains cash drawer, receives payments for meals, accounts for petty cash & receipts, maintains & sells postage stamps.
  • Takes an active role as part of the administration team, helping with all administrative tasks when necessary.  These may include filing, copying, mailings, composing and typing confidential/medical material, formatting/revising existing documents and data entry.
  • As an ERS team member, upholds the philosophy of Person Centered Care while performing duties; whenever possible acts to restore and/or provide Purpose, Choice and Freedom to our residents.

Qualifications

•Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.

•Prior receptionist and administrative experience preferred, will train.

•Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and hospitality.

•Knowledge of Microsoft Office and using the internet.

•Experience working a telephone switchboard preferred.

•Excellent business grammar and communication skills; must be able to read, write and understand the English language and speak it in an understandable manner.

•Must be able to demonstrate patience and understanding with customers including our residents, families, guests, vendors and other team members.
